Linda Moylan

June 3 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

£9

Linda Moylan is a singer-songwriter whose music serves as an evocative bridge between her birthplace in Waterford, Ireland and her formative years in the East End of London. Her work offers a raw exploration of the immigrant experience, inhabiting that restless “third space” – the perspective of an observer who belongs to both worlds and neither.
Blending the storytelling traditions of the Irish troubadour with the gritty realism of a pre-gentrified city, Linda’s music occupies a micro-genre she calls ‘Domestica’. Here, the mythic and the mundane are inseparable. This artistic mission was notably encouraged by Finbar Furey, who provided personal advice on keeping it real.
Her current sound is brought to life by her band featuring Ian Montague and Rebecca Mileham, adding a rich, atmospheric layer to her live performances. This musical foundation is built on a history of working with ‘folk royalty’ including Phil Beer, who produced her album The Merchant, and the late Julie Felix, with whom she recorded the duet Freedom is a Woman.
Through her unique lens, she continues to prove that the most profound human truths are often found hidden in the shadows of the domestic and the displaced.
