See separate event for this week. \nMiranda Sykes\, the acclaimed singer and bassist with ‘Show of Hands’ is returning to her roots. After a career spanning over 20 years\, during which time she has played with many of the top musicians and singers within the folk world\, she is touring as she started out: one woman\, one bass\, and one guitar. \nBuilding on the success of her Borrowed Places tour\, Miranda Sykes is back with a completely new project: Behind The Wall. Where Borrowed Places opened a window into the past\, explaining where she had been\, physically & spiritually\, Behind The Wall is a Roller Coaster Ride exploring where we are going; Miranda\, you\, me\, all of us. What does it mean to be human today\, living in our communities & societies & where will our actions lead us? Powerful and hard-hitting but also poignant & beautiful\, this show gives us all a chance to reflect & maybe even empower us.

SUMMARY:Scarecrow Lite/Rebecca Mileham
DESCRIPTION:A double-header night. Dave and Gordon are based locally. They have supported Banbury Folk Club and Festival for many years. Their music is a splendid mix of beautiful tunes\, traditional songs and up tempo ballads which will have you cheering for more and dancing in the aisles. The repertoire includes some Irish instrumental music\, some distinctive songs and occasionally a twist of jazz or blues\, all have been worked on to produce tight and unusual arrangements. The band generates an atmosphere of good humour\, energy and fun. \n \n  \nA delightful return to the club\, for Rebecca Mileham. She played classical piano and violin for years but got to know the folk music scene when she moved to Oxfordshire. She played a solo set\, as well as playing violin and vocals in folk/indie band Liam Vincent and The Odd Foxes\, at the festival last year. She began writing solo songs using piano and violin and her first EP was released in 2022.
